Serious Injury Traffic Collision in Chula Vista

At approximately 12:48 PM today, officers from the Chula Vista Police Department responded to a report of a traffic collision near in the 200 block of Glover Ave. When officers arrived on scene, it was discovered that the incident involved six parked vehicles, one occupied vehicle and one dwelling.

Per a witness, the driver of V-1, identified as a 77-year-old Chula Vista resident, was exiting the rear exit of 223 Fourth Ave. The parking lot has two exits, which exit onto the 200 block of Glover Ave. When exiting the lot, Endres made a left turn out of the parking lot on to Glover Ave and accelerated at a high rate of speed and lost control of his vehicle. Endres struck two vehicles along the East Curb line of Glover Ave, which caused a chain reaction and hit two other parked vehicles. Endres vehicle continued to accelerated making a u-turn back into the same parking lot. Endres then collided into another parked vehicle, which hit a second parked vehicle. Endres vehicle then collided into a wood fence and came to rest into a residential dwelling.


Endres was transported to UCSD Medical Center with an open fracture to his left wrist. Endres's passenger later identified as a 79-year-old Thornton Colorado resident was also transported to UCSD Medical Center with complaint of pain to her chest.

The cause of the collision has not been determined. The Chula Vista Police Traffic Bureau is currently investigating the collision. Investigating officer is Officer Fisher.
